Story
We are looking to crowd fund the up grading of the athletics track @ Holland Sports athletics Club
Our most urgent aim is to raise £115,000.00 to surround our track with floodlights to allow our athletes to train throughout the year.
After floodlighting, additional £859,000 would let us replace the old cinder surface with a rubber track, which will be used for throwing, jumping and running activities.
Once this need is met, any additional money will be used to purchase athletics equipment, such as hurdles and high jumping mats. This will enable more individuals to come to our floodlit track, as it becomes a community magnet and a sports hub for a wide range of sporting opportunities.
Our passion is to use the power of sports to transform the involvement of our neighbourhood in athletics, new sports, school sports and community events, changing lives through the opportunities this will create.
We know that people who play sport are –
Healthier
Happier
Likely to perform better educationally
Much more socially cohesive. Sport brings communities and individuals together.
And in some cases, as we know with our emerging athletes at Holland Sports Athletics Club, it can lead to County selection and life changing opportunities.
Local MP Claire Coutinho supports our plans. She said “ Sport brings us together as a community, builds resilience in children, and helps us all to live healthier, happier lives. I enthusiastically support the creation of new sports community projects, where they have community support.”
For anyone who competed for Holland Sports Athletics club or Oxted school in Surrey (or in any local sport) you will know the power of sporting opportunities to excite, focus and improve individuals, their community, family and school involvement.
Sport can develop individuals and encourage incredible journeys to new levels/destinations
We believe any support you kindly give would be an investment in our community and the future.
If you decide to donate, thanks for being on our team!
