Over the weekend, Storm Babet created mayhem and destruction across the country. Unfortunately, Lincolnshire was hit very hard and the River Bain burst it's banks in several places, one of which was behind the Squash Club on Hemingsby Lane in Horncastle. As you can see from the Cover photo, this resulted in the entire squash club being flooded to almost knee level.

As a result of this flooding, our squash club (and gym) have had all the ground floor flooring ruined. Most damaging is the swelling and bowing caused to the court's wooden flooring which is beyond repair and it is estimated to cost up to £8,000 to repair per court (so times this by 2).

Unfortunately for the club, we were flooded 12 years ago and could not receive insurance against flooding again, hence we are now in a very dangerous position of not being able to open the club for squash for a very long time, if at all! This all depends on being able to raise enough money to recover our courts and the club overall.

We've had lots of help to date from club members with respect to physical support and we have also featured on the news and received some much needed media attention to raise our profile. However, despite this, we are still helpless without the funding to help repair and recover the club.

Martin and Dawn Well's, who operate the squash club, have already had serious impacts to their businesses, which is obviously their livelihood's. Despite all the hard work and effort put in to clean up, the longer it takes to repair the facility the more it will impact them from a personal business perspective.

This is where we need all our club members and where possible their friends and families to help, by making a donation and also sharing this story with your friends and family to see if anyone else out there can help financially. Unfortunately, we are in a very desperate position, with limited club funding available and no insurance cover to fall back on, so we are now reliant on donations from members and the wider public.

Any donations will be much appreciated for us to reach this target and recover the club. All involved in the club will work relentlessly to make this happen, but your help with a donation would be much appreciated for us to achieve this massive recovery task.
