Hello my name is Hugo Sugg and I am hoping to run as an Independent candidate for Hackney South and Shoreditch in the General Election 2017.

About me: I have a background in homeless campaigning and was also one of the Founding Members of the national Youth Homeless Parliament. I have a key interest in politics and community cohesion - coming from my Degree. I feel that I could implement these skills as an MP effectively to help my local community.

About the campaign: In the face of Leaving the European Union, I believe it is now more important to strengthen or community, in the aim that no-one gets forgotten in this process. My values have people at its heart, their families and local businesses.

My Manifesto is fighting for Minimum Living Wage, challenging housing deprivation, homelessness, media hate towards religion, rising knife crime, challenging Child Poverty, youth work, gender equality and the NHS.

Hackney South has suffered seven years in Austerity and I do not want to make it five years more.

What will the funding be used for: The deposit* for just standing in the General Election is £500, and this will be given back if 5% of the vote share or more goes in my favour.

The rest of the funds will be used for leafleting and publicity costs. All spending will be documented with a receipt and published on the campaign website (launching very soon). I am committed to ensuring this campaign is completely transparent.
