Story
In August 2024 Adam and I are aiming to walk the full width of Britain along the Hadrian's Wall path which is 73 miles.
The challenge is usually done over 3-5 days, which is a challenge on its own, but we will be walking non stop for at least 24 hours to complete the challenge without rest or sleep.
The route starts in Bowness on Solway on the far west coast and ends at Wallsend in Newcastle.
We are doing this to raise money and awareness for the amazing work that Animal Lifeline UK do. Without them our Marley wouldn't be here today, 10 years ago he was a 'death row dog', Animal Lifeline saved him in his final 7 days and move him up the country to his current home with Adam, he had just days to go until he would have been put to sleep.
Here is more about Animal Lifeline UK:
Everyday across the UK countless dogs are put to sleep as they have been left too long in kennels and care cannot be provided for them.
Once a dog has no 'hope' they are classed as death row doggies and put to sleep within 7 days if no foster care, new kennel or home can be found.
Yet most people are not aware that so many dogs are cruely killed in such a way.
Animal Lifeline UK mostly works with council pounds throughout the UK with their stray and welfare case dogs.
Theh also work with vets, police, social services, rescues and also help with private re homing with all sorts of different animals that are at risk.
Animal Lifeline UK is not rescue they don't take and re home animals, but they do help to find reputable rescue places and have strict rules that new rescues wishing to work with them must adhere to in order to take animals from them.
Animal Lifeline UK is a not for profit and relies on it's wonderful volunteers and donations to help keep these dogs alive.
One of these dogs was our Marley and without their support he wouldn't have had the amazing and fulfilling life which he now has.
