Harry has Spina Bifida and other complex medical conditions affecting his spine and internal organs (bladder, bowel and kidneys). He had a difficult start in life due to his problems not being diagnosed until he was nearly 2.
Harry has recently had to start using a wheelchair for days out and family activities. This has made such a difference to him and to us as a family.
To help him adapt to using a chair, he started playing wheelchair basketball with a local team. He is doing brilliantly and his coach says that he is a natural and has some real potential. Although he is able to use a club wheelchair for training, they do not always fit his size.
So this is where you come in. We are starting to fundraise the £1200 needed to buy Harry his own wheelchair that will be specifically fitted for him. The chair will grow with him too for several years. It will make a huge difference for Harry and will give him the opportunity to shine.
So, if you are able to come to one of our fundraising events then it will be lovely to see you. If not and you would still like to donate towards Harry's Wheels then we would very much appreciate your contribution via this just giving page. Should we be lucky enough to raise more than our target, then it will be shared between SHINE (Spina Bifida charity) and Stoke Spitfires Wheelchair Basketball Team.
