Story
This page is to help our young nephew cory and his family who has been diagnosed with aplastic anaemia this is a rare blood disease which came as a huge shock to his parents. Cory came in from school in pain from falling from his bike his mum took him to a & e to be checked over to make sure there was no broken bones as he had a badly bruised knee to then being told there wasn't something quite right with his bloods and needed further investigation. Then upon closer inspection of cory there was multiple haematomas scattered all over his body which were not caused by him falling from his bike.
Aplastic anemia is a rare disease that occurs when your body stops producing enough new blood cells. The condition leaves you fatigued and more prone to infections and uncontrolled bleeding. This can be fatal if left untreated and treatment is long and on going. This disease has to be treated with aggressive treatments.
this young boy who is only 12 years of age will be in hospital over christmas and possibly many months after, he will require a bone marrow transplant which is not always guarenteed to be affective if and when they can find a donor as well as continuous platelet transfusions to keep his platelet levels up to prevent them dropping dangerously low and multiple blood transfusions also.
We are making this page so he can have a wonderful christmas and can put a smile on his face and also to help his mum, dad and 2 young siblings through this tough time as his dad having to travel over 2 hours to see him and his mum is currently staying in hospital with him so this means they have the added pressure of expensies due to there family being split in two.
We are trying to raise the funds to help relive the financial stress through this tough time and also to give Cory a extra special present to lift his spirits as he will be spending christmas in hospital this year without his father and young siblings due to the current situation of covid.
we have aimed for this target but by all means anything at all is much appreciated.
if you could find it in your heart to donate anything at all to help support this young family at this difficult time we be forever grateful
thank you for reading and please share.
