Weʼre raising £1,400 to our beloved Kitten Oreo who was mauled, by our next door neighbours Staffordshire Bull Terrier and has sustained horrific injuries.

Our beautiful 5 month old, friendly kitten Oreo was out in our garden enjoying the sunny weather when a neighbours cat chased him.
Oreo climbed our garden fence to escape the cat but was forced to challenge him. Having defended himself from the adult cat he fell into the next door neighbours garden where a fully grown Staffordshire Bull Terrier pounced on him and got him in his jaws.
The neighbour acted quickly to get the dog off him but if was too late. The dog had mauled and severely shaken Oreo. We rushed him to the vets but he had multiple bite wounds to his torso, a badly lacerated front leg and multiple punctures to one of his lungs and had gone into shock with breathing difficulties.
The vets acted quickly, sedating him, putting him on a drip, but his condition worsened so they had to drain his collapsed lung. After a very long night and a lot of crying, especially from my terribly upset children he has stabilised for now. It's early days; we still don't know if he will develop a lung infection and whether his punctured lung will heal.
My neighbour does not have pet insurance on the dog and won't offer to pay any vet costs. We have only had Oreo a short while (but fallen in love with him and his wonderful character so much) so we have not insured him yet.
We are paying the vets bill as it grows but we cannot afford this huge amount and have had to borrow to cover the costs so far.
We are not on benefits and are a hard working family but we were already in significant debt before this terrible incident.
This appeal goes out anyone, cat lovers, dog lovers and all kind citizens out there.
This is a genuine appeal for help. Anyone who helps will be kept updated with Oreo's condition (if I have access to your email address).

The vets have not been able to find all the sites of the punctures to his lungs, so under further sedation he has been completely shaven. However, they still can't identify the holes. As the vets are extremely busy and its a bank holiday weekend he are not allowed to visit him. :( Poor Oreo!
