Story
On the night of November 15th tragedy struck in my old neighbourhood on Bowen Island. Long time resident Harry Monahan was woken by his faithful dog Shadow at around 10:30pm to find his entire house filled with dense smoke and it is one of Gods miracles that he and Shadow narrowly escaped without injury or worse. His home was literally gone in minutes.
It is in times like these that friends and neighbours can really pull together.
Harry has been a resident on Creek Road for as long as I've been on Bowen. Given the timing - entering the holiday season this is particularly tragic. The only thing Harry could recover on his way out was his passports.
Harry and his beloved dog Shadow will be in need of many things as the weather through the holiday season. Donations of any kind will help bring love and joy back into Harry's heart.
