Story
Hollys story is in the Glasgow live

This is Holly and she is a 9-year-old Jack Russell terrier. She is my total world along with my other two rescue dogs. In October 2020 Holly was diagnosed with diabetes, at the time she was my Nanas beloved pet but my Nana was diagnosed with dementia and was killing Holly with kindness, this is why she developed diabetes. My nana passed away in 2021 and I adopted Holly because no one else was confident in giving her insulin injections and tending to her medical needs.
She was a large pudding weighing over 10kg when she came to me but I whipped her into shape through diet and exercise and she is a wee pudding now weighing 6.1kg!!
However due to having diabetes the vet has told us she has cataracts. I thought it would take years for them to become really bad but now we have been told that unless she gets an operation to remove the cataracts she will go blind sooner rather than later . The operation will hopefully work and has a good success rate although there are risks like there is with any operation i just cant bear the thought of not trying to save her sight.
Holly is such a happy wee pooch, she's got the most amazing temperament and shows so much love to everyone who meets her. Her wee meetkat pose when she wants attention just melts your heart. If she went blind I think Holly would lose the will to live, shes so full of life and the nicest wee doggie you could ever love.
The cost of the surgery is £5600 plus the potential of needing bilateral laser retinopexy at an additional cost of £2000. On top of this, I also will have post-op consultations and eye drops. Proof will be posted in the pictures.
Please if you can donate no matter how small I would be so grateful to save Holly's sight, it would mean the world to me.
I have got some savings to use but i never budgeted for it costing in excess of £8000 plus.
