Story

Hello, this is following on from my facebook activity regarding Lennart who is homeless in Gran Canaria. Lennart is in his late 60s.

Lennart has dedicated his life to helping others and worked in the social services sector in Sweden for 20 years. Somehow he has lost his way on his life journey and has been in Gran Canaria for the past four years.

Unfortunately, he now finds himself homeless. His feet have swollen so much due to walking around Gran Canaria with little water for hydration that he has developed open sores that have become infected and is now finding it difficult to walk. All his documentation including passport was stolen so makes the process even more difficult.

I have been feeding him day and night and giving him fresh clothes but he is in desperate need of medical attention, regular access to hot food and cleaning facilities and most importantly secure shelter.

Please check out Lennart's message here https://www.facebook.com/pattycakebook/videos/1353999971285822/

Two extremely important valuable assets that help to make a successful change in the world we live in today are people and money. It is possible to make a difference. Let’s make this a better change for someone in need. You can help from the comfort of your own home by donating with the click of a button.

I am currently searching for his family in the hope that they can reunite together but in the mean time I am concerned for his health and wellbeing.

Will you help gain this man’s dignity back by donating a little? Any donation will help us to try and succeed this goal. This situation could happen to anyone of us at any given time

I hope that this campaign will be successful in helping Lennart to get back into society. My ultimate goal is to get something set up to help everyone that's in need on the South side of the Island but my first aim is the wellbeing of Lennart.

“If you can save one person you can save the world.” Thank you, Andrew xx

Lennart has made tremendous progress over the past week, I keep telling him we have to take things slow and there is lots of work to do. Getting to know Lennart further I have come to realize that he has a heart of gold and would do anything to help the right people. He is also starting to accept he has a greater problem being ADHD & is slowly building confidence to trust me to get him the help he desperately needs. He I currently staying at my house. However this is not the answer to the greater problem.

A huge thank you for all the donations so far. Let's try to break the target so we can set up the shelter that's so desperately needed. It's here where we can save many more people get their lives back on track and start to feel human again. How ever small or how ever large your donation every single cent will help to make a huge difference. To people less fortunate than ourselves. Thank you!
