Story
Our beautiful, amazing, well known and well loved Labrador Honey passed away after a short illness on the 3 August 2016 aged just 10 years old.
We had hoped that we would have the pleasure of her for a few more years yet, but sadly, that was not to be.
Honey was well known to people locally and she would sit happily on the pavement outside our house, just watching the world go by, and loved her runs around the park, and chasing the local cats!
She loved a good bark when anyone came to the house, and she was infamous amongst the Clay Cross Tesco delivery drivers!
Honey was also partial to a night out at the pub, and everyone in our local loved her! Honey was the only dog we know who would sleep peacefully throughout an entire performance by the loudest rock band!
Honey loved swimming, and chasing the ducks, in the Whitworth pond, or the river. She enjoyed a swim most years at Chatsworth Country Fair, where one year she was in big trouble with the Household Cavalry when the regimental chocolate labrador saw her and dived in after her!
Honey was also known and loved by so many people on the vintage rally scene. If we lost Honey at a rally, we would know where to find her - at one of our friend's caravans where she would normally be enjoying a biscuit or two, or she would be hoovering up after their barbeque!
As Honey was such an amazing dog, who was well known and loved by people far and wide, we thought it would be a fitting tribute to try and raise funds to name a Guide Dog puppy after her, so that another amazing dog can go on to change the life of a blind person.
