On April 2nd Tom, Nicole, Kia, Angela & I are running a half marathon at Wimbledon Common to raise money for a truly wonderful cause called The Hope Project.

The Hope Project was set up in June 2016 by Eleanor & Tania who met volunteering at a makeshift camp of 12,000 refugees on the Greek/Macedonian border. The destruction of the war in Syria had not only left thousands of adults and children homeless it had also ruined their chances of having an education. Sadly some of these children have never been to school before and with nothing to focus and no real hope adult mental health is deteriorating rapidly within these camps.

The Hope Project's mission is to equip and empower displaced children and adults through informal, creative educational programmes which include Maths, Science, English, Sports, Art and Arabic, as well as a Life Skills integration programme specifically designed for young people and adults. The Hope Project aims to provide a safe environment and a platform where they develop and contribute towards the project, society and their own future.

The Hope project have now found a space in Thessaloniki in Greece and are in the process of building a learning/community centre for both adults and children. The more funding the Hope Project receives the more classes, workshops, food and a sense of future they can provide.
