We represent a group of friends who will take on our first Ironman in Frankfurt on July 9th, 2017. The race entails a 3.8km open water swim, 180km bike and 42.1km run.

Training for such an event requires sacrifice and determination and we will make this sacrifice and fight on our own terms. However, unfortunately there are people who are struck by this disease and do not have a choice. Instead they are often forced to sacrifice their regular way of life in order to fight for their lives.

We would like to raise awareness and support for these people – in particular, women with Breast Cancer. We will do so by raising money for ‘Actitud Frente al Cancer’, a non-profit org led by Ana Casas (Breast Medical Oncologist & former Breast Cancer patient).

The organization’s ultimate goal is to improve cures against Metastatic Breast Cancer by developing targeted treatments based on a determined set of gene mutations & symptoms. Donations will be used to enlarge the sample of tests carried out on patients with Metastatic Breast Cancer and will help to determine specific targeted cures. The more tests the better.

We have started this. We have already collected GBP 5k, and we need another 5k to reach our 10k goal.
