Story
It's been ten years since Ian died and we want to help his memory live on with a permanent memorial in Cornwall. Porth Mear is his favourite place in the world (and is where he's standing in his top-off photo above) and an opportunity has come up to fund a kissing gate on the coast path there through the National Trust. This is £800 and will be put in place towards the end of next year - with a plaque with his name.
Porth Mear is quite remote however and not accessible for Ian's mother so we would also like to put a memorial bench in the churchyard at St Eval which she visits regularly. This is £500 + a donation to the church and its upkeep.
Anything you can give, however large or small, will be hugely appreciated and mean the world and more to Ian's parents - who are constantly touched by the messages they get from his friends - do please comment with your donation if you can.
If anyone would like to be kept informed about the gate being put in, do let me know - I think a meet-up and memorial Guinness or three would most definitely be in order.
We miss you Ian - and always will xxx

I only knew Ian for a short time at BP but he was a massive influence on me and I find myself thinking about him often with very fond memories. He was a truly decent person and is missed greatly.
