We are raising funds to develop a booklet of up to date nutritional advice for promoting good health and well being of children with Down syndrome. We are doing this because currently there is no specific nutritional advice readily available and consequently this very important factor does not get addressed for the children. Almost all children with Down syndrome suffer with poor levels of health and frequent illnesses, such as upper respiratory problems, bowel and metabolic dysfunction leading to obesity, diabetes and hypothyroidism. Research based evidence now shows that following certain dietary advice can lead to restoring good metabolic function by just food alone. We would like to create a resource with the support of our colleagues from specific medical fields which can be given to parents, Doctors, schools and other supporting professionals to enable children grow well and be at their very best. We would really appreciate your help to achieve this.
