Story

I am thrilled to share the news that Insulinoma Charity UK (ICUK) has now earned its official registration with the Charity Commission! Registered Charity Number 1204926.

This pivotal achievement strengthens our commitment to advance the awareness and understanding of insulinomas.

All the money raised and continued donations will help to create a significant impact to achieving ICUKs ten essential objectives that form the core of the Charity’s mission.

Insulinoma Charity UK Objectives:

1. Definitive Information Source: Establish ICUK as the go-to source for accurate insulinoma information, ensuring patients and caregivers have access to reliable and updated resources.

2. Unified Platform: Centralise information on insulinomas, proinsulinomas, Insulinomatosis, and NIPHS to provide comprehensive data and support.

3. Patient-Led Research: Champion research that is driven by the needs and experiences of patients and publish the findings of the pioneering Insulinoma Research Project.

4. Future Planning: Develop a comprehensive 2–3-year business plan outlining ICUK's aspirations, aims, objectives, and future plans to ensure strategic growth.

5. Standardising Hospital Procedures: Advocate for the 72-hour fast to be standardised across all UK hospitals to enhance the diagnosis and treatment processes.

6. FreeStyle Libre Campaign: Lead a campaign advocating for FreeStyle Libre prescriptions for those with suspected and diagnosed insulinoma, ensuring accurate and efficient monitoring.

7. Regular Updates: Launch a bi-monthly insulinoma eNewsletter to keep the community informed, connected, and engaged.

8. Collaborations: Foster partnerships with key organisations including Neuroendocrine Cancer UK, ENETS, UKI NETS, and AMEND to enhance support and resources for patients.

9. Fundraising Initiatives: Actively fundraise and apply for seed funding to bolster the charity’s growth, outreach, and impact.

10. Charity Administration: Draft a person specification for an experienced, part-time charity administrator to drive ICUK and its fundraising activities forward.

With these objectives as the foundation, ICUK is positioned to significantly advance the scope, reach, and effectiveness of insulinoma awareness, research, and support across the United Kingdom.

.Thank you for your donation and for your continued support.

Kindest regards

Enola Wright

I am delighted to announce that we now has a team of 12 twelve volunteers who will be working towards establishing the charity and meeting our objectives. At the heart of our collective effort lies our shared experience of living with an insulinoma. This common ground unites us, providing a foundation of understanding and empathy upon which we build our charity. Together, we are not only creating a support network but also a family bound by mutual experiences and a shared vision for a better future for all those affected by an insulinoma.
