On December 4th, the boys will be running for Jennifer Smyth who sustained a spinal cord injury and broken neck during high level gymnastics training in September 2013. While this devastating injury may have abruptly and cruelly ended the path Jennifer was on she was not going to allow herself to be beaten by it. From then on she applied the same determination which characterised her sports career to the challenges ahead and specifically to be able to walk again.

Unfortunately the equipment needed for Jennifer has only been available during physiotherapy and rehab sessions. Without the generosity of friends, family and general public Jennifer would not have been able to make this incredible progress and unfortunately must rely on future donations to maintain and continue her progress.

To give some idea of the ongoing costs a 2 hour session of physiotherapy which she has on a weekly basis is £180. The Bioness equipment for electrically stimulating the muscles needed for her to walk will cost £20,000.
