The Joan & Reg Children's Support Ltd has been set up in memory of my Dad to help the wonderful children of Atibie & Ntomen in Ghana.

I am travelling to Ghana in December to see these wonderful children and learn more on how we can help them. I am one of many volunteers that help out in Ghana but these children are from the area my fiance & the JRCS's Co Founder live and so they are very special to me.

In this country if your child is taken ill you take them to your GP for help. The worst case scenario is that they need hospital treatment. This is all done on the NHS and regardless of status, wealth or background it is free of charge. This is not the case in the small villages of Ghana. If the parents or guardians of the children can not afford the health insurance the children are left without medical help. A lot of the children sadly do not even have parents or guardians and are left to fend for themselves.

Imagine if your child became ill and needed life saving treatment only for you to be told "Sorry but you haven't purchased Health Insurance, we won't treat your child" To watch your son or daughter suffer would be horrendous but sadly this happens every day in Atibie and Ntomen.

The saddest thing of all is that it only costs £2.00 to insure a child for a whole year. The cost of a cup of coffee on the way to work would ensure a child's health and well being would be taken care of for a year.

I have seen these children via video links and have photos sent to me and they always have a smile no matter how difficult their lives are. We are setting up this page in the hope that our wonderful friends & family will be able to donate and help us save more lives and ensure these wonderful children don't suffer any more than they already have.

Any amount that you can donate will be very gratefully received and 100% of the donations will go to insuring these children so if the worse happens they will receive vital medical help. Thank you
