Around 2 years ago my brother Joshua went to live in a residential home.
Growing up i would tell my parents 'Joshy will live with me when we are older' something I whole heartily believed right up until the year he moved. Joshy wasn't just my brother but my baby my best friend & for a long time my soul purpose for waking up each day. From the second he was born our bond was like no other and still is.

When Joshua was 5 he was diagnosed with severe Autism, with there only being 16months between us my parents new there was something wrong with there precious boy way before the doctors confirmed it BUT instead of breaking they found strength and dedicated 23 years to raising & caring for Joshua (and did the most incredible job).

As Joshy got older things became tougher & being a small 4 person family was difficult. Joshua was becoming an adult and needed more in his life than we could give. Sometimes love isn't enough.
After over a year of meetings, preparation, visit after visit & my parents travelling around the country trying to find a 'home' that was worthy of the gift of our beautiful boy we finally found somewhere.
Joshua moved into his new home & started his next chapter.....

In the past few years Joshy has been there he has come on leaps and bounds! The staff who care for him are exceptional & make our precious boys life a happy one.
The others who live with Joshy have become dear friends to him something he has never had before. With one special little girl calling him her big brother and constantly sending me pictures of them with there matching onesies on eating sweets and watching Disney movies.
Never did I think letting my baby brother go would feel so right.

Joshua and his friends are beautiful inside & out. They deserve to have all the joy and goodness from this world. There every day struggles are more than you or I could probably bare. Yet they still put a smile on there face & carry on.
