Three years ago we discovered the Pino Tandem Hase, a bike that offers the kind of freedom most of us take for granted. I started to dream of Junior accessing this incredible bike. We were lucky enough to test ride and be fitted in 2023.

About Junior;

Junior was born in 2013 with a rare neurological condition called Hemimegalencephaly, which has led to multiple severe disabilities as well as thousands of seizures since birth. Consultants warned Junior may never walk, talk or even breathe independently but amazingly, age 7 - Junior defied all odds & walked unaided!

Despite his challenges Junior is always seeking to make others laugh, he has an adventurous spirit and more determination than we could have hoped for. Anyone who meets Junior, totally falls in love.

Why this bike;

The Hase Pino Tandem bike costs £10,561 with the adaptions & safety requirements to facilitate Juniors needs. There is no other bike that offers the level of physical support and freedom, Junior will experience being 'up front', with his feet on adjustable pedals and hands on handles. Close enough to safely communicate with the able bodied adult riding tandem.

The Pino Tandem means Junior will be able to ride a bike safely & as independently as possible! Bringing a little boy who needs constant Support & 24 hr 1:1 Care the feeling of independence and adventure.

It also means Junior’s sisters can cycle alongside their brother for the first time ever! The Pino Hase Tandem bike can be extended as Junior grows all the way into adulthood.
