    Story

In January 2015, my father Ken Mullaney passed away following a valiant fight with cancer.
Ken was a wonderful man, much loved by his family. His passing remains difficult.
The journey with cancer was an arduous ordeal, but this burden was eased considerably by the excellent care provided by all of the medical staff at Castle Hill Hospital, Cottingham; in particular on Ward 32 at the Queen's Centre.
When Ken passed away it was thought we could mark his passing with a gesture of charity, perhaps raising a small sum of money for the ward that cared for him. We thought we might raise at best a few thousand pounds; so all of Ken's grandchildren formed a charity. We are pleased and proud that we have so far raised c£8,800, we have been in contact with Dr. Pattu (The specialist registrar who cared for Ken) to confirm with him that we are seeking to raise over £10,000 for ward 32 by the end of this year.
This cause is a simple one, we just want to raise money so we can contribute to something for ward 32, to help others when battling cancer can be so bleak and difficult.
So far the grandchildren, the family, and many friends, have successfully completed a range of challenges to raise the amazing donations to date.
It is now my turn to try to encourage support and donations to break our £10,000 target.
On Friday the 18/11/16, I plan to walk the length of Hadrian's Wall, starting at Bowness-on-Solway and finishing at Wallsend, (84 miles) hopefully completing the trek by Sunday night, 20/11/16.
I am delighted to confirm that I am to be accompanied by John Mullaney and Ryan Allen, who are both also seeking support and donations for the same cause. As always, we will be supported by our family.
On behalf of the three of us, I would like to thank you for visiting this page, reading our message, and hopefully for the donations you may consider to support our charity for Ward 32.
Please help us by smashing our £1,500 target.
    Thank you,
    David, John and Ryan

Dear Supporters, I am delighted to confirm that KMOC have raised £13,300 for Ward 32. The money raised will fund the purchasing of bedside fridges for each patient, to hold comfort food and drink. We are also funding new reclining chairs for patients to use during the day and their family and friends to use on an evening, when visiting sometimes involves long and late sessions providing support. Thank you for supporting KMOC to make this happen. We now have a new cause, visit Crowdfunding to read about this, please do help us again. KMOC.

On behalf of John, Ryan, all members of our Charity, the family and myself, please accept our sincere gratitude for the wonderful generosity, words of support and encouragement for our Winter Challenge. The support we received helped us greatly to complete the task. We are delighted with the sum raised and that BP have invited us to apply for match funding! We are planning more events for 2017, so that we can continue to raise funds to battle cancer, we will endeavour to update all who have supported us. Thank you. David, John and Ryan.

Hi, The snow has arrived to underpin our challenge title! I am delighted to say that due to some wonderful generosity we have surpassed our initial target of raising £1000! We are now amending our Just giving Page to a revised target of £1500. If any further friends or colleagues are able to visit the page and consider donating to our cause we would be very grateful. I can also now confirm that BP (Ryan’s employer) have agreed to match fund the money we raise and they will donate direct to Castle Hill Hospital! Thank you. KMOC
