We want to open up youth cafe where youngsters from 11+ years, can meet it will be thier own own music and 'gig' venue. It will be a place to hang out, meet and form new friendships.
The money we want to raise will help secure a property and buy all the necessary equipment, the interior will be very youth focused using most of their ideas how they would like it to look and what food's drinks etc they would like.
The cafe will be open after school and during term holidays and at the weekends until 10pm. The ethos is to let the young adults take ownership (under adult supervision) They will be encouraged to help in decision making and they will learn many new skills, playing a major part in running it. The idea came about from talking to young adults stating that whenever the meet in groups they are told to 'move on' when all they are doing is talking music and discussing the latest trends as youngsters do.
