Kay King, mother of Ellie and wife to my brother Russell, was diagnosed with a brain tumour just over three years ago. Her doctor found that, at first, the tumour wasn’t growing and “was behaving” (the doctors exact words!). However, 4 weeks ago they were given the news that the tumour had grown and Kay had to start immediate Chemotherapy.

Money is being raised to pay for private health care for Kay as the NHS don’t want to operate. The family are currently investigating possible private care in London and in America. Money raised will go towards this private care and a donation to MacMillan.

A football match has been arranged to raise money for Kay and for MacMillan Cancer Support. The match will be between a team of colleagues of Russells at GSF and a team from Birmingham City Council, where I work. The match will be held at Castle Vale Stadium (http://www.castlevalestadium.co.uk/) on 29th September 2016. Kick off at 7pm. Making a guest appearance at the match will be ex-Aston Villa footballer, Darius Vassell, who will be playing 30 minutes for each side. We are hoping (although this is not confirmed yet… watch this space!) for more ex-pros to play or be in attendance.

Although there aren’t tickets on sale for the match, entrance will be a donation into one of the many buckets that’ll be around. Please give as much as you can to help us raise as much as we possibly can.

Once the full time whistle has blown, the on-site bar will be open and there will be a charity raffle for some great prizes, with all money raised being donated to this cause. More and more prizes are being donated, from a £30 tattoo voucher to a garden chimenia from B&Q. A full list will be available on the night.
