Story
During my recent visit to Malawi, I paid a visit to Bibi Khadeejah orphanage in Lilongwe. An independently run orphanage established in 1992 that provides boarding, lodging and education for girls aged from 2 to 19 years. There are 50 residents at the orphanage and 70 children from the local community attending the school.
I was humbled by the great work carried out with such limited resources. It inspired me to contribute to the project by raising awareness of this brilliant cause and help them to provide better facilities through your donations.
This appeal is to raise money to build a kitchen and dining area for 250 people. Currently the kitchen is a crumbling brick shell, with food being cooked on wood fires and coal. The dining area can accommodate approximately 40 people. With your help we can help build a facility that can serve even more people.
The only way for these children to break out of the poverty cycle is to provide them with the foundations of a quality education in order to have better career prospects. By providing the children with a safe place to eat, they will be physically and mentally prepared to learn.
