Story

We got this pup last year and she is so full of love and life but has always been lame on her rear legs. She turned a year old in July and when we took her to get spayed we asked the vet to take a look at her rear right leg as her lameness was quite bad at this point. The news we received was heartbreaking. She has a ruptured cruciate ligament and it needs an operation to be able to fix it. Normally this will occur in a much older dog we were informed. The operation will cost in the region of £2000 - £2500 and I feel so bad that I can't afford this on disability and all my husband gets is money to look after me. We have no savings and our income is making a loan impossible to obtain unless we're willing to pay over the odds in interest rates. I watch her try to get up after having a sleep and see her struggle to stand, what is even more heartbreaking is that I know that both back legs are affected! There's times that she almost entirely walks on her front legs 😮 she is so brave and doesn't cry much but for a dog of this young age to be so badly in pain is not fair.
Please help me raise the funds to get one of her legs sorted at least, I sit here in tears just wondering what I can do to help her. It's not fair to condemn her to a life of pain and drugs when she should be able to just live the best life that she can.

Ps
The cruciate ligament is what keeps the knee stable, it connects the thigh to the shin bone and prevents the bones twisting and sliding against the joint... this is what is happening with Kodi and as you can imagine it can be very painful, this also means she already has osteoarthritis 😞
