Story

Isaiah Kosgei founder of the Kosgei Walpole foundation turns 50 this year and to celebrate he is running the Berlin Marathon which is in its 50th Edition on the 28th September 2024!

His aim is to raise money so that 50 children can be sponsored with school fees for 4 years through his efforts.

The Kosgei Walpole foundation is a not for profit charity based in the Western Highlands of Kenya East Africa which aims to raise money to support local efforts to give back to the community. The purpose of the foundation is to ensure that more children get vital secondary education and that the school buildings are optimal, being fitted with the equipment needed to deliver the best levels of education.

So far the Kosgei Walople foundation has given education opportunity through the sponsorship of 30 children, built two classrooms at Kapngetuny secondary school, built a science laboratory for St Pauls Makongi secondary and is currently building two classrooms and an office at Sisyobei High School.

Running is a passion for Isaiah Kosgei who has travelled and competed internationally winning prestigious races such as the Loch Ness Marathon a couple of times and competing in the Marine Corps marathon in USA last year. He loves training amongst the athletes in Iten the home of champions. His aim at the Berlin Marathon this year is to run a world record for the M50 marathon age group. To do this he will need to run faster than 2:19:29 which Titus Mamabolo of South Africa ran in 1991 and he will need all the support from you in order to achieve this!

Please help Isaiah fulfil his dream of bettering the lives of these 50 children and continue in his quest to make a long lasting impact on the education and future prospects of people living in this part of Kenya.
