This Summer the Liverpool Life Sciences UTC is partnering with local social enterprise Can Cook to try to banish ‘holiday hunger’ amongst young people this summer.

We are looking to raise a target of £10,000.

With this money, we will be able to support Can Cook to provide a free meal worth £2, Monday to Friday for each week of the six week break to 180 children.

We have chosen 180 as we have 180 children in our schools who are entitled to government support for Free School Meals during term time only.

With your help, we can continue to provide meals to ensure 180 local children do not go hungry this summer.

Laura McCumiskey, Development Manager of Can Cook, said: “This summer, up to three million children across the country will be at risk of hunger during the school holidays - returning to school in September, thinner, undernourished and tired. Around 82,000 of these children live in the Liverpool city region.”
