Lambourn RDA is self supporting charity, so fund raising is an essential part of ensuring that they can continue to provide a centre for riding. Horse riding offers an opportunity for enjoyment, challenge, friendship, laughter, achievement, independence and confidence for our 45 registered disabled riders. Listen to the audio below to understand the difficulties Lambourn RDA have faced during the Corona Virus outbreak and what the benefits this charity provides to individuals within the community:
What we are all facing is unprecedented and could have a lasting impact on the British horseracing industry. We know that this is a very challenging and uncertain time for everyone, and for Racing Welfare the financial impact has been severe.
We are experiencing a significant drop in income as fundraising events and activities have had to be cancelled and with no idea when we might be able to start them up again. We are therefore looking at a loss of fundraising income in 2020 of around £500,000 at the present time.
An active rescue and re-homing centre for elderly animals Trindledown Farm, has been rescuing domestic and field animals for 21 years. Based in the Lambourn Valley, 10 acres supplies grazing for Alpacas, Sheep, Pigs, Ponies, Rabbits and Guinea Pigs. Their unique accommodation has sofas and TV's for the dogs in their twilight years. The Cat Pad offers special enrichment for their feline pens. Trindledown Farm holds regular fundraising events at the Centre with their café, charity shop and pet supplies shop.
