Stop the destruction of Northamptonshire countryside.

The Kettering Energy Park proposed development shows the worst aspect of "green washing", where a large-scale development of warehouses - as high as 30 meters tall - in prime countryside is dressed up as a "response to the climate crisis". It will have a direct impact upon the countryside of Northamptonshire and lead to the destruction of good agricultural land.

Concreting over the countryside and establishing high energy consuming warehousing and factories is not green.

The developers plans are for an enormous site of warehouses and factories and is completely out of scale for the area and dwarfs all the existing warehouse developments within the Northamptonshire area which is becoming synonymous for sprawling ugly warehouses that offer a few, low paid jobs.

The planned site is an area of open countryside with rich biodiversity and animal habitation. It is one of the few large areas of Northamptonshire that is not crossed by roads or villages and as such it represents one of the largest areas of mature open countryside in Northamptonshire. The developer claims that the development will "support biodiversity" but replacing mature countryside with warehouses estates will have the very opposite effect.
