Most of you probably know the Latchbrook Community Centre as 'the cub hut' or 'that hall in Latchbrook you can hire for parties' or 'ballet lesson building' but the point is it's a Community Centre with many uses which we and mainly our children ALL can and do benefit from.

The building is used by the Scout Group 5 evenings a week, Sunday - Thursday, we now have 3 Beaver Colonies, 3 Cub Packs, 3 Scout Troups and an Explorer Scout Unit. The sections are getting bigger and we need the space, but it would also enable the smaller sections to take some off the waiting list. The building is also used by the community for parties U3A and other activities. There is a possibility of a pre-school coming in in the new year. These numbers demonstrate just how many members of the community use is building and will benefit from the extra space.

As most of you know, extensive building works have been carried out so the clubs can grow, so far funded by selling the old scout HQ and good old hard work in the manner of fund raising.
The building is now watertight BUT we are still a long way off breaking through the to the extension and using the new space. According to the Saltash cub and scout leader we probably need between £30,000 - £50,000 (not sure of the exact amount), but i am being realistic with the first target here.

I am a local mum of 3, 2 boys who go to beavers and Cubs at the community centre and have attended numerous parties there. I am literally the middle man here collecting all the kind donations and passing the funds directly to the Saltash Cub Scout leaders who gave asked for fund raising ideas.
