Story
It is with a heavy heart, we share that Laura passed away peacefully this morning, Wednesday 25th October, surrounded by those she loved.
She was a wonderful wife, mother and friend to many.
Cancer knows no bounds, it tears through families and turns so many lives upside down. Laura’s courage and strength throughout her devastatingly short battle was truly inspirational - even completing a 5K walk for charity which became so close to home.
Mark has said he has promised the girls the best christmas possible in Lauras honor as that is what she wanted for the girls.
We all thank you from the bottom of our hearts for your suppirt, kind words and generous donations which made Laura’s final wish come true.
Mark Evans, one of our managers has been with us for over 8 years. His wife of 21 years & mother to their two children, Laura was diagnosed with terminal cancer in June this year.
Finally, there was a date for chemotherapy to start – this would enable her to keep fighting & to complete her bucket list with her family.
Unfortunately, this was not to be. As of the 27th of August, a mere 3 days before chemotherapy was to start, Laura was taken into Hospital with breathing difficulties where a CT scan revealed the cancer was extremely aggressive and had spread further. Laura’s chest cavity was full of fluid which was confirmed to be cancerous. To make matters worse for her, one lung had collapsed.
Mark and Laura have two beautiful daughters, aged 9 & 17. Whilst it is not possible for Laura to complete her own bucket list, one of her wishes is for her and Mark to take their children to Disney Land Paris. Although we know that Laura will not be able to join them for this trip, we are hoping to raise the money so that Mark can take the girls & for Laura to know that this dream of hers will come true.
Thank you for taking the time to read the Evans family story.
