Hi, i'm Laura, i am training hard to take part in the Balmoral Devil of Deeside. Which is a 5km, 10km run on the same day ,then the following day a duathlon and 15mile trail run.
Along with me are some other warriors who are taking part in some of the events.....for the same reason.

The reason is a wonderful, determind, kind hearted person....our friend Lesley Kane.
Who would of thought a fun game of dodgeball after work could lead to a horrific chain of events, scratch to the skin, bacteria Necrotising fasciitis (google it if you dare) gains access to the flesh, flu like symtoms, fitting, coma for 10 days..this happened while she was with her family abroad, a fabulous surgeon in Holland chased the disease around her once super healthy body, cutting out infected parts resulting in losing her left side of her torso, back and left breast. Leaving a massive open wound that had to be treated like severve burns.
Imagine your life being spun on its head in a matter of days waking up and re-learning how to talk, walk, eat and write. All the simple things we take for granted. Meanwhile coming to terms that your body is no longer what it was. Grateful to be alive ,determind to see her children who had been brought home - this gave her the strength to fight to get well enough to come home to the UK.

WE ARE NOW CALLING ON YOU, TO HELP US ,HELP LESLEY.

Lesley needs to concentrate on her recovery without worrying about finacial implications, hospital fees, physio, reconstruction options, time off work etc.

WHY SHOULD YOU?
Only one in four people survive this awful disease...she has fought hard to be here and take her place as a mother, wife, daughter,sister, best friend and is still an amazing person who would do anything for anyone.....AND BECAUSE I AM TRAINING MY GOD DAMNED ASS OFF!...SO PLEASE DONT MAKE THIS POINTLESS !!!! DIG DEEP PEOPLE.....DIG DEEP!!!!
