Story
On October 15th 2023, Andrew tripped on the stairs at home. Unfortunately this inocuous trip, down 3 steps, damaged his spinal cord in 4 places, leaving him without use of his arms or legs. Things have improved and he‘s able to control an electric wheelchair and hopefully he should be able to come home soon.
However, when he comes home the NHS only supplies a manual wheelchair, which would leave Andrew dependant on others, rather than being able to take Esther to school and get out to the shops.
We will also need a ramp built to the front door so he can get into the house and a stairlift so he can sleep in his own bed again and we can begin to live again as a family.
The cost of those 3 things is going to be around £7,500, so we’d be really grateful if we could raise £4,000 towards that cost.
EDIT - thanks to people’s amazing generousity, We’ve increased the target.
2nd EDIT - we are absolutely blown away by all the donations and the lovely messages. We never thought we’d hit £4,000, but the fact we’re having to increase the target a second time after only 3 days and we might be able to raise all the funds we need so that Andrew can access the house and have some independence is utterly bonkers. Thank you, thank you, thank you.
