I Am setting this page up to raise money for Selective dorsal rhizotomy it is an operation which is used to improve spasticity muscle stiffness in children with cerebral palsy and the chance for them to lead a more independent life. which comes at a price of £75000. Let me tell you about this special little man, Leon was born ex-prematurity 29 weeks gestation unfortunately there was some complications.Leon got an infection and was taken to London hospital at which time the family got called to say goodbye, but our little man defied the odds,after months at the hospital.
Leon was finally home after many tests and realizeing that leons development was very delayed and couldn't hold him self up we finally got the diagnosis that Leon has quadriplegic cerebal palsy with developmental delay.
Leon is a very happy little boy who touches the heart of many people he meets, despite how much he struggles everyday. leons typical day starts off with intense physiotheraphy and also ends that way too.
Leon has painful spasms in all of his limbs at all times of the day and night and due to Leons condition he is in a wheelchair, Leons cerebral palsy effects all 4 limbs and core muscles . leon is 6years old and has brothers who he loves to be around and trys very hard to join in with games. This operation is the chance for leon to be able to get out of his wheelchair and with lots of physiotheraphy maybe walk one day. Leon lives with his grandparents and completely relies on his grandparents for all aspects of care.
