Light up Hamlet Court Road

Great news - we have been able to reduce our crowd funding target to £3,000 due to a major offline donation which means we are almost a third of the way to our achievable crowd funding target. Please try to donate to help us get there - together we can do this!

For years Hamlet Court Road has been without its Christmas / festive season lights. Let's be honest, it's about time we got them back - brightening up the road at this special time of year. 'Hamlet Court Calling' is a new, local regeneration, community project. We have overcome numerous technical issues with the Council and can now launch a funding campaign to raise a total of around £5,000 (reduced from £6,500 plus VAT due to cost savings) for decorative rope lights to be wound around 28 lamp posts (increased from 16) from November until early January. But we can't do this unless everyone, traders and local residents, chips in to help. Please help the future of your local high street and donate whatever you can.

But don't delay - Christmas / the festive season may seem many months away but the lights have to be ordered this summer.

The scheme has approval in principle but is subject to the final approval and consent of the Council. The funds will be held by 'Hamlet Court Calling' a formally constituted community group working on the regeneration of Hamlet Court Road. If we can raise more than the funds required we can extend the scheme or, perhaps, add in a Christmas tree.
