Light Foundations 4th Visit to Calais, France - COME AND JOIN US

We are pleased to inform you that from Friday 5th to Saturday 6th August 2016, the Light Foundation will be returning to the “Jungle”, known as the Refugee Camp in Calais, France with a renewed spirit and approach, in an attempt to respond to the ongoing Humanitarian crisis currently unfolding before our very own eyes.

The response to our previous three visits have been absolutely phenomenal, overwhelming and a great testament to the generous community that Preston is.

NEW APPROACH - MORE ENGAGEMENT WITH REFUGEES

On this particular visit, we will ONLY BE TAKING CASH DONATIONS and not be collecting aid, such as food or clothing.

We will take your kind donations to Calais and entrust reputable charities, that we know to help them continue their excellent work. We trust that you will continue to trust and support us. This will be a 100% direct donations policy.

This will allow us to spend an incredible amount of time engaging with the refugees there, offering companionship, friendship and effectively a shoulder to cry on. Our volunteers will have more time to visit grief stricken camps, such as the women and baby camps.

Loneliness is proving to be the root cause for depression, therefore leading to many refugees resorting to suicide, as they are simply being forgotten about.
