On the 28th December 2023, Lila Marsland passed away suddenly and unexpectedly, aged 5. Lila was a bright, bubbly and fabulous little girl, who charmed everyone she met. She was a sassy little red head with a heart of gold, who loved life and never took anything too seriously. If you met Lila you would remember her.

Her family have set up this charity – Lila’s Light - in honour of her. They aim to raise money to provide hospitals with bereavement bags for siblings who have lost their brother or sister. The bags will contain memorial items, and items to help remember their sibling whilst also including tools and resources to navigate them through their grief, and encourage them to talk about their feelings. They want to provide children who have lost their sibling with a small amount of support.

On 28th July 2024, The Scooter Crew, of which Lila was a huge part, will be completing a sponsored scoot – a 1 hour non-stop series of laps around Chapman Avenue in Hyde (SK14 2AR) on which they live and play – and baking cakes for a bake sale before, during and after, to raise money for this fabulous charity. The cake sales will start at 2.30pm, and the Scoot at 3pm.
