Story
The village of Llanymynech is very unique due to its location on the Powys/ Shropshire border. What is also unique, is the community that live in and around the area. One very special member of this community is our local shop keeper Duncan Borthwick-Gardiner. https://www.facebook.com/llanymynechvillageshop
Even before Covid, Duncan would organise many different events including the village clean up. He would dress up at every seasonal event and hand out sweets. During Covid, Duncan and his amazing team worked tirelessly to help all that they could; collecting prescriptions, delivering shopping, there was nothing they wouldn't do and not forgetting the Community fund that he set up to help everyone else.
But now...
With the recession, cost of living and general hardship we are all suffering, The Llanymynech Village Shop is having to close due to increased running cost, lower customer numbers and running at loss for several months. Duncan's determination to keep it open for us, just isn't viable any more. Duncan hasn't had a wage for months, and will have to pay for the property rent.

He has done so much for us, let us show him how appreciated we are to have him around.
