Well I will keep this as short, sharp and sweet as I can, but I would first like to thank you for reading my page, you've come one step to making this happen but there is just one more step I would like you to take and here is why...

In 2012 I was diagnosed with a life threatening illness at just 28.
Upon receiving the news my life felt like it began to slip away. Living far from family and friends, my immediate support network, my immediate strength was the Emmanu'-EL Apostolic Church in Leicester.
From the moment I received the news, when my blood ran cold through my body from head to toe, till after a lengthy operation and subsequent treatment... the church was by my side.
One bank holiday instead of having their annual fun day, I recall lying in the hospital bed. The Bishop of the church along with two of the sisters had come to along spend time with me so that I was not alone. Suddenly, I heard a faint sound of music, which increased and became louder. Then one by one the EAGA Choir filed into my tiny hospital room led by a guitarist singing my favourite song. There were 50 members of the congregation crammed into my room and they spent the afternoon with me singing songs like Oh Happy Day, which gave me an immense feeling of hope, joy and peace. What Love!
I knew the choir performed around Leicester and carried out community work from singing in residential homes to school alongside fundraising events for numerous charities; but what they did for me that day was life changing.

The Emmanu'-EL Apostolic Church is now on a mission to improve a local community, Saffron Lane through building & furnishing a community centre accessible for all. They are not only providing a place of worship, but also a place of refuge, education and rehabilitation.
