Story

My name is Dapo Olusola, a passionate Nigerian cinematographer and creative director based in London embarking on an exciting adventure, cycling from London to Paris alongside Allen Akinkunle, Ibrahim and Yemi. We aim to do this 400km journey over the span of three days to help spread the awareness about the Sickle Cell disease and raise funds for three NGOs in Nigeria in their bid to help individuals living with this condition with treatment, support and incentives. Sickle cell disease impacts the red blood cells especially prevalent among individuals of African or Caribbean descent. Globally, approximately 50 million people live with sickle cell disease, with Nigeria being the largest, hosting about 4-6 million cases. This means that roughly 1 in every 4 Nigerians carries the sickle cell trait.

I am creating a three-part documentary film which will capture a visually stunning and emotionally compelling story of hope, resilience, and solidarity throughtout this journey.

Day 1 - London Eye - Dieppe / 94km ✅

Day 2 - Dieppe - Gisors / 120km ✅

Day 3 - Gisors to Paris / 120km ✅

“Long road to the Eiffel” is more than just a cycling adventure; it is a powerful testament to the human spirit and the collective effort to bring about positive change. By raising awareness and funds for these NGOs in Nigeria, we aim to support individuals living with sickle cell disease, providing them with the necessary treatment, support, and incentives to improve their quality of life.
