Story
I am trying to raise funds to help with the restoration of or repair of, the Pavilion on the playing field on Heath Road in Hockering, the site was initially used by Hockering Football Club but they no longer exist and I suspect that because of this, the grounds including the Pavilion have been vandalised and fallen into disrepair. The site includes a flood lit fenced tennis/small sided football court, which has been abandoned and neglected, the floodlights do not work because of damage, 1 full sized 11 aside pitch, which is used regularly now, by Mattishall Football Club, 1 junior sized/9 aside pitch, which now does not exist because it was abandoned and neglected, a club house with 2 large changing rooms (2 toilets in each), kitchen, storage room, main room with 2 toilets (1 disabled), all of which are in need of urgent repair, electrically and structurally, the roof has broken tiles on and has holes which allow the rain to leak through causing more damage to the internal ceilings. .
Access to the site is through a gate on Heath Road and up a drive way/worn dirt track (flanked by local farmers fields), through an opening in the hedge into the car park, a compacted worn shingle area.
The site used to be used regularly by local children and also by Hockering Football Club which no longer exists. The OLD football club and playing fields committee do not seem to work closely to either maintain and improve the facilities or to provide a safe environment for local children and adults to play sports.
The area had been abandoned and neglected until Mattishall Football Club started playing here and making use of and making minor repairs and tidied up the place which is now in regular use by the team, parents and spectators. So maybe you could help by donating some way, either by physically restoring our pavilion or financially, please help us get our pavilion hospitable and waterproof and secure.
Many thanks for reading this and hope you can help us ;-)
