I never thought for one second that I'd have a baby with a life limiting condition and additional needs but as I do, I need to raise some extra money to help fund specialist equipment needed for Alice.
Alice has development delay and requires more physical/postural support than the average baby. I'm already lucky enough to have received a tumbleform chair from Alice's O.T to help support her body (mainly her head) so I can feed her solids. However, I need a more comfortable supportive chair for her and the money raised could go towards this.
Alice has Porencephaly which is an extremely rare cephalic disorder involving encephalomalacia. It is a neurological disorder of the central nervous system characterized by cysts or cavities within the cerebral hemisphere. Alice has the following symptoms...development delay, severe and hard to control epilepsy, visual impairment, hydrocephalus (build up of fluid on the brain) and a poor prognosis for her life expectancy. Alice may develop further symptoms which she doesn't currently have,only time will tell. Alice currently needs a lot of care, definitely more than your average baby, and as time goes on as Alice gets older, she'll depend even more on me, especially if she is unable to walk or talk (this would be the worse case scenario). I'm going to need funds to buy more specialist equipment, this equipment could be anything from aids in the bathroom to a specialist wheelchair in the future.
Please help me to help my beautiful baby Alice. She deserves to have as much help and support as possible in her life to make her happy and pain free.
