Story
Mintlaw ROV was founded in 2012 and is an extra curricular programme that is designed to compete in the MATE ROV underwater robotics competition. The current group of Senior pupils who are inspirational next generation engineers have won the Scottish Regional heat and will now travel to Kingsport, Tennessee, USA to compete in the world finals.
We are very grateful to our sponsors to date and appreciate all the effort our partners have put in to create this once in a lifetime opprtunity.
To support some of the funding of this trip, the group are conducting a Sponsored Walk from Maud to Ellon on Wednesday 29th May to raise funds.
In addition to the trip, this group have had a vision of inspiring the next generation of ‘Young Engineers’, to date they have inspired our S1 ’Navigator Group’ who were the youngest team to compete in the regional competition, their enthusiam is amazing to watch. They are a team of 6 young people who have a passion for engineering.

This younger group from August 2024 will grow to 38 Second year pupils who will be embarking on the S2 Elective ROV project which will see 4 further smaller projects grow from the main competition.

Any donation you give will be used to support the continued growth of ‘MintlawROV’ inspiring the next generation of young people to support the ‘Blue Economy’
