Story

Update, Maggie is now home from the veterinarian specialist Scotland after just over a weeks stay for her surgery to both her legs, Maggies family are very thankful to the surgeons and veterinarian staff for everything they did to help Maggie the family are also very grateful to everyone who contributed towards this fund as it has helped immensely with the cost of the veterinarian care. Maggie still has a long way to go as recovery will take several months and physiotherap, Maggie is due back to the vet hospital in the new year for further X-rays.

We are trying to raise funds to cover the costs of a major surgery for my friend’s 1 year old border collie Maggie, who was involved in a major fall which has resulted in devastating injuries.

My friend and her daughter were out walking with their border collie Maggie when she jumped over a small wall that ended with her falling down a hidden 15ft drop onto a concrete road. Maggie has sustained extreme injuries to both her front legs. She was referred to see specialists as her two front legs took the full force of the fall now she has devastating injuries to both ankles including broken bones, badly damaged tendons and ligaments and is going to need operations on both ankles so she can walk again, her injuries are so bad she’s going to need both ankles fused and metal plates inserted and has a very long road to recovery ahead of her. These are major surgeries and the costs have way surpassed the insurance coverage, the cost of the operations alone have surpassed £14000.

Maggie is a super friendly, adorable, inquisitive and loving wee dog, she has only just turned 1 year old last month. Maggie who loves nothing more than chasing her ball and has such an infectious bubbly personality. She is the centre of her family and means the world to them! In particular her mum who is member of a community of dog walkers who all meet up to walk their dogs and as a result have become a tight knit group of friends who offer support to each other in times of need!

As a group we are doing all we can to support Maggie and her family, due to the cost of living crisis and the time of year being so close to Christmas we are reaching out to ask for donations to put to the cost of Maggies surgeries.
