Mallaghan Marathon Relay Challenge 2024

Thanks for taking the time to visit our JustGiving page.

Mallaghan Engineering have entered Eight relay teams in the Belfast Marathon on Sunday 5th May 2024 to raise money for two worthy charities; the Niamh Louise Foundation and Charis Cancer Care.

The relay teams are made up of staff from all parts of the business, all shapes, sizes, abilities and ages but with one objective in mind! To raise money for the charities, close to our hearts.

The Niamh Louise Foundation was set up in February 2006 following the death of Niamh McKee who died on 21st November 2005 at the age of just 15. The charity provides prevention by raising awareness of suicide through various sources of literature and training workshops on suicide and self-harm. Northern Ireland is reported to have the highest prevalence of mental health problems such as anxiety and depression amongst the child and youth population in comparison to other UK nations. We will run on the 30th April in support of all those affected by suicide and self-harm.

Our other charity is Charis Cancer Care. This is a local charity based in Cookstown which provides support to men and women affected by cancer at every stage of their journey. They also assist and support the families and supporters of those living with cancer or any family member bereaved by cancer. With one in two people getting cancer at some point in their lives, we will run for Charis so that they can continue the good work in our local community.

If you, a member of your family or friend have been affected by Cancer and/or a Mental Health we would ask you to support us by donating, no matter how big or small. Help us support these local charities and keep these invaluable services in our community.

Donating through this page is simple, quick and secure. It is the most efficient way to give. Also, you can make your donation go further if you are UK tax payer! Simply give your consent to gift aid and our chosen charities will receive an additional 28% at no extra cost.
