Margret day from netherfield Nottingham. Has changed my life not only because she and her husband Maurice treated me like a human being for the first time in my life at the age of 13.

At the age of 8 I left my birth father who was a terrible abusive drunk to me and my sisters. From there constant beatings by my first foster parents and emotional abuse was constant and harsh. At one point I
was strangled buy the woman who weighed 20+ stone until I almost lost consciousness.

This was the norm for me I had given up on most things like school and life I got moved around 4 homes in 1 year and finally with Margret and Maurice when I was 13 the way they treated me I could not understand why were they so nice but as I know now there were just honest lovely people. I was there 1st foster child and they have had many since and everyone was shown the same love and respect

Margret has had to wait 5+ months for a diagnosis of lung cancer after many tests to confirm it she has finally began treatment unfortunately her brother is terminal cancer at the moment with not long left.

Margret's lungs are not working as the should and one has shrunk/ callapsed buy half. Walking to the next room is extremely difficult and I would like part of the money raised to purchase a stair lift to help keep her quality of life.

Margret and Maurice have always had a keen love for carp fishing and they can't do this at the moment either.

My fund raising goal is £20,000 I am going to take part in the oxfam trek a team of 4 of us will complete 100km in 30 hours.
