Story
We are going back to spend Christmas with everyone at Masizame and are looking to raise £2000 through crowd funding. The money will be used for the much needed up keep and further development of the centre for street children.
From the success of last Christmas and the impact it had on the quality of life for the children "Rustic Creations" was born. RC is an enterprise project Sarah has launched through her school Moorthorpe Primary in South Elmsall.
The children of YR 5 have helped to make crafts that we have sold at markets and to family and friends with all the profit going to Masizame. So far the total raised is £1500 and we want to add to this to take a total of £3500 with us when we go back.
We'd also like to take gifts again for all the children to make it another memorable Christmas for them.
Children are there for various reasons, ranging from having no home of their own, parents who cannot afford to look after them, to rape & abuse. Many were street children but with a lot of love and care have managed to go to school on a daily basis.
They receive clothing, three meals a day, supervision over homework, counselling, camps, art lessons, sports activities and outings. Staff also swork on rehabilitating the child and re-uniting them with their families where possible.
We would really appreciate your support - check our Rustic Creations Page on facebook for updates and to see what impact your donations have on Christmas day!
