Crowdfunding is the new way to raise money for a personal cause on JustGiving.

Story

The Thailand Water Project takes place in late June in Northern Thailand in the Inthanon Mountains.

The aim of the project is to provide clean running water to the Karen villagers. We will be required to find a clean water source high in the hills and then make a dam and dig and lay pipes down to the village. Then we will construct two large water tanks in the village to hold the water. If we have time they will also lay pipes from the tanks to each hut.

We (the students) live with the villagers in their wooden huts and spend any spare time playing with the children and also teaching them English and games in the local school. The project lasts approximately three weeks. The aim is to leave the village with healthy clean water so that the village can prosper in the future.

The money I raise will go towards flights, to get me over to Thailand, and internal transport; pay for the materials we use, ( cement, reinforcing steel and water pipes) we will also buy the kids school materials ( pens, pencils and paper ) along with toys for them to play with.

Any size of donation would be gratefully received to help me reach my target.

Thank you!
