Our (max and i) aim is to raise money for the Derby Children’s Hospital a place that is very close to my heart and childhood, for those of you that don’t know Max and I well here is a little explanation as to why.

I have always struggled with my health ever since I was a young child being diagnosed with Crohn’s Disease aged 15 and recently finding out that I have a very rare blood problem which is caused by faults on some of my genes. This means both diseases are un curable but require continued care and support from my local hospital the Royal Derby. I have spent and continue to spend a lot of time in hospital, starting my days on the Children's Wards at the Royal Derby Hospital. So when i found out i could take Max my Belgian Shepherd into see the children i jumped at the opportunity. Max and i visit the Children’s wards, emergency department and outpatients every Friday and big holidays including Christmas Day. Max can often be found in some sort of fancy dress outfit!

I see first hand every Friday how any extra money for better equipment and care would help so much so i would like to take the opportunity to try and raise as much money as possible for this amazing place.

I can testify to how much extra care and vital equipment is funded from charitable donations and makes such a difference to peoples lives, mine included, I intend to do this via a JustGiving page. (An added extra: Taking into account life's events especially over this past year I have made (for me) a big decision to buy a round the world ticket and spend the first 3.5 months of next year travelling all the way around the world something i have always wanted to do but never been brave enough! I wanted to take you all with me so as an extra donation for the Children's Hospital i have purchased a "Max" lookalike teddy to accompany me on this journey which will be donated to the Children’s Hospital on my return to be kept as a reminder of the years Max visited the hospital. This trip will all be documented on an instagram page @kit4dogs where you will be able to watch “Maxs trip around the world.”)

Above was the original plan and we got as far as USA for 3 weeks but due to complications with me we had to return home to the UK - so Little Max's plans had to change he is still making a book for the Children's Hospital but he is now going to experience lots of different careers with amazing people who are "employing" him for the day!
