Story

Hello,
I am planning to do a skydive from 15,000ft in April 2025 when I reach 16, and a number of small other fundraisers such as a car wash, bake sale and more with the help of those around me and those who would like to help raise money for Andys Man Club (a men’s mental health and suicide prevention charity).

I am doing this because I recently lost my dad to suicide in February 2024. This has caused much distress and issues for me as I am in year 10 just beginning my mock exams, I have found it difficult to concentrate as much as my peers around me due to my grief.

My dad was 43 when he tragically died. He was a great man who had many people who loved him in his life and never would have wanted this to happen, He was a kind and gentle man. He had his faults like everyone does but he was always one to help someone out if they needed help, he was always there for me when he could be (he has struggled with his mental health).

I plan to raise £1000 to go to Andys Man Club in honour of my dad and any man that has gone through or experiencing mental health dificulties. Also, to help men feel free to open up about their feelings without any judgement around it in a relaxed enviroment to overall help improve mens mental health and reduce men’s suicide rate. Unfortunately mens mental health isn’t talked about enough and I’d really like to raise awareness of this. If these proceeds only help a small number of people not to go down the suicide route then that would just mean so much.

I want to thank you from the bottom of my heart for any donation no matter how small. Thank you, Samuel
